Beats de Roots

Music as a catalyst for self-discovery and human connection.

I create spaces where music becomes a way to connect with ourselves, with others,

and with new ways of living.

story

Hello, I am Aine Fujioka, a drummer, educator, and community builder from Hiroshima, Japan. Through music, I create spaces for self-discovery, human connection, and creative living.

My Journey

I have worked as a professional supporting drummer for more than two decades in Boston, New York City, and Berlin, and graduated from Berklee College of Music. Despite receiving so much encouragement and recognition from my teachers and colleagues, I struggled to feel confident in my own performance. I was always trying hard, carrying tension in my body and constantly feeling the need to prove something.

What I Believe

I believe that music can be a practice of self-understanding.

I believe that creativity and life cannot be separated.

I believe that listening is as important as expression.

I believe that community helps us grow.

I believe that some of life's most important lessons happen in the spaces between notes.

So this is a space for people who want to explore what it means to live creatively and intentionally through music.

I invite you to join this circle and explore the map that I have been drawing throughout my life —

a map that has been meaningful to me, and one that may help illuminate your own path as well.
